LDK alumni assisted External Relations with this year’s 3 Minute Thesis Competition® which took place on September 17, 2016 as part of Lunds Kulturnatten. 9 doctoral students took part in the competition and all successfully presented their research in just 3 minutes to a generalized audience. LDK congratulates all the participants in taking the 3 Minute Thesis challenge:
Andrew McRobert, Rebecca Warfvinge, Giana Carli Lorenzini, Kristin Hyltegren, Sylvia Sztern, Mahtab Aghaeipour, Roshni Pramanik, Sara Moricz, Vi Thanh Son
Giana Carli Lorenzini (LTH) won first prize and her presentation went on to U21 international competition, which can be viewed here: http://www.u213mt.com/u21_3MT_vidz.php In addition, Roshni Pramanik won Runner Up and Rebecca Warfvinge won the People’s Choice Award.
After the presentations, participants received questions from the audience. The goal of the competition was to challenge doctoral students to be able to efficiently communicate their research in an easy-to-understand way as well as to share knowledge and research with the community.
Kristine Lund (LDK VP 2015/2016) was the moderator and was on the planning committee together with Anna Stöckl (NDR LDK board member 2015/2016). Anna also arranged a workshop for participants to fine-tune their presentations with last year’s winner Simon Regnell. David Örbring (LDK Pres., 2015/2016) was the doctoral student representative on the jury, and Amalia Foukaki (LDK VP 2013/2015) and Ylva Persson (LDK VP 2015/2016) assisted with the event.
LDK thanks all participants and those who worked to make this a successful event!
